Larry D. Moore II is a middle school English, theater and speech teacher, teaching artist and musician out of Des Moines, Iowa. After an early start in performing by way of church and the Des Moines Youth Choir, he went on to Roosevelt high school where he was a three year All-State tenor and a member of the chamber and show choirs while participating in drama productions and competing in speech events as a part of the drama club. During his bachelor’s work at Truman State, Larry was a part of an innovative, small Gospel group called OneVoice and became a staple in the thriving slam poetry scene. Since his Masters in Education from Drake University, Larry has coached and mentored poetry students and teams, taught classes from pre school to hip-hop camps and continues to act, perform and compete as a part of his artistic communities.
